Public Safety

A patrol car is an office, an evidence room, and a command post. We build all three.

A patrol build brings together partitions, weapon mounts, scene and warning lighting, rugged compute, in-car and body video, and the power and connectivity to run it all through a full shift. Sector specs, installs, and supports the whole thing.

THE STAKES ON PATROL

When the build fails, it fails on shift

A patrol vehicle is the most equipment-dense thing a department owns. Computer, two camera systems, radio, radar, printer, lighting, siren, partition, weapon mounts, all sharing one chassis and one battery the manufacturer never meant to carry them.

When any of it is wired wrong or mounted poorly, the cost shows up at the worst time. A laptop that shifts in a pursuit. A battery dead at shift change. A camera that drops the one clip that mattered. A partition that does not fit the cage. Each one pulls a car off the street and an officer's attention off the road.

Most departments do not have the staff to manage a dozen vendors and a moving target of technology. Sector does. We design the patrol build as one system, install it, and stand behind it, so the car is ready when the officer is.

WHY SECTOR FOR THIS SOLUTION

We come from public safety

This is the work Sector was built around. The same gear we install is gear our team uses and stands behind, so the build reflects how a patrol shift actually runs, not how a spec sheet reads.

One system, not a pile of parts

Compute, video, connectivity, lighting, and power are designed to work together and wired so the technology never fights the vehicle. Evidence systems are set up CJIS-hardened from the start.

We stand behind it for the life of the system

An unlimited installation and workmanship warranty for the full life of the technology we sell, field service that comes to you, and reinstall into replacement vehicles as the fleet refreshes. One accountable partner, not a chain of vendors pointing at each other.

THE PATROL BUILD

CONSOLE & DOCKING

Controls in reach, gear that holds through a pursuit

The cockpit. A center console puts the siren controller, radio head, and switches within reach without crowding the airbag path, and a laptop or tablet dock holds the computer through a pursuit and a curb strike without working loose. Docks charge and connect the machine so the officer is logged in and online before the car leaves the lot.

This is the deepest part of the catalog and the part an officer touches every minute of the shift. Get it right and the car disappears behind the work. Get it wrong and the operator fights it all night.

LIGHTING & SIRENS

Built to the department's visibility standard

The package runs from a lightbar or slicktop setup to hideaways, grille and surface lights, a traffic advisor, and scene lighting that turns a dark roadside into a workspace, plus the siren and control head wired to the right circuits. We build to the department's visibility standard and the look of the fleet.

Sector is an authorized distributor for multiple lighting and siren lines, including lines beyond our online catalog. We source and integrate the full package and wire it to hold up to years of duty cycles.

LOW-FREQUENCY SIREN

The tone drivers feel before they hear it

Modern cabins are quiet by design, which means a standard siren can reach an intersection and still not be heard in time. A low-frequency tone is felt as much as heard. It penetrates surrounding vehicles and pushes through where higher tones get masked, which helps clear an intersection faster and lowers the odds of a collision on the way to a call. We integrate it with the primary siren so the officer runs one control.

POWER MANAGEMENT

Idles for hours and still starts at shift change

A patrol car idles for hours and carries a load the factory battery was never sized for. We isolate the technology's power from the OEM electrical system, run it through a fused distribution with surge protection, and add intelligent shutdown timers so the gear powers down safely and the car still starts at shift change. Where the duty cycle demands it, a direct-wire jump-start system keeps a stationary vehicle running its equipment without killing the battery.

TRANSPORT, K9 & WEAPONS

Secured to the role of the unit

We fit partitions and transport seats to the cage and the cab, add a rear prisoner-transport camera, and install secure weapon mounts with single or dual gun locks. For K9 units, a temperature-monitored insert with heat alarm and remote door-pop keeps the dog safe when the handler is out of the car. Vaults and drawer systems lock down long guns and gear.

Every piece is built to the role of the unit, not forced in after the fact.

COMPUTE & VIDEO

The office and the evidence chain, hardened

The rugged laptop or tablet is the officer's office. We mount, dock, and commission it, sunlight-readable and built to take vibration, drops, and heat. On the video side, an in-car system with dual cameras and automatic license plate recognition pairs with a body-worn camera that tags and offloads to a cloud evidence platform with redaction and transcription. The whole chain is set up CJIS-compliant, so the footage that clears or convicts is captured, stored, and shared without a gap.

Sector also sources other rugged platforms on request when a department is standardized on a different machine.

CONNECTIVITY & PERIPHERALS

No signal, none of the rest matters

None of the above matters if the car cannot get a signal. A rugged mobile router with a roof antenna keeps the laptop, cameras, and tablet online across cellular and Wi-Fi, with vehicle-to-office offload for video at the end of a shift. Add an in-car printer for citations and reports, a handheld scanner for plates and IDs, and radar where the unit runs traffic.

HOW A PATROL BUILD COMES TOGETHER

1

Tell us about the fleet and the work

Tell us what the units do, what they carry, and what you can spend. We run a fleet audit and vehicle list so the build fits the cars you actually have.

2

We design and spec the build

We design a full plan priced to your budget and priorities, with the technology's power isolated from the vehicle and evidence systems set up CJIS-hardened. You see it before anything is ordered.

3

You review and approve

Nothing gets ordered or installed until you sign off. Any change is pre-authorized, so the price holds.

4

We source, install, and commission

Upfit-trained techs build it and run a commissioning checklist so every system is tested before the car returns to service, with deployment and officer training included.

5

We support it for the life of the system

You get a workmanship warranty, remote and on-site field service, and reinstall into replacement vehicles as the fleet refreshes.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Common questions from agencies building or refreshing a fleet.

No. Bring your own vehicles or have us source them. Either way the build is the same, and the vehicles stay titled to your agency.

Yes. In-car and body-worn video, cloud evidence management, redaction, and transcription are set up CJIS-hardened from the start, so chain of custody holds from capture to courtroom.

Upfit-trained Sector technicians, and yes. We carry an unlimited installation and workmanship warranty for the full life of the technology we sell. The warranty holds as long as the work stays ours.

We reinstall the systems into the replacement vehicle as your fleet refreshes, so the investment moves forward instead of starting over. Field service comes to you, remote or on-site.

Yes. Through Sector's STAMP program a fleet upfit can be paid over two to five years as a predictable operating expense, with equipment, install, deployment, training, and service bundled in. Vehicles stay titled to your agency, and single-pay options carry a discount.

Yes. Our online catalog is part of what we use. Sector works with partners beyond it, including lighting, siren, K9, and radar lines, to build the right patrol system. If your build needs something we do not stock online, talk to us about the project.
