A vehicle is only as good as the build inside it
A build comes together from consoles, mounts, power, lighting, partitions, and the technology that rides on them. Sector specs, sources, and installs the whole thing, then stands behind it, whether you run patrol fleets, work fleets, or something in between.
Most upfits fail slowly, not all at once
Vehicle prices are up sharply since 2019, and the cost to outfit one has climbed with them. Budgets have not kept pace. So vehicles get older, builds get pieced together from whatever vendor was available, and the result is a patchwork that nobody fully owns.
That is where the real cost hides. A loose mount, a power draw that kills the battery overnight, a radio wired to the wrong circuit, a partition that does not fit the cage. Each one is small. Together they mean downtime, emergency fixes, warranty finger-pointing, and equipment that fails when it matters.
For an agency, that is officer safety and lost patrol coverage. For a commercial fleet, it is lost uptime, lost revenue, and liability exposure when a build is not done to standard. Same problem, different stakes: a vehicle is only as reliable as the build inside it, and a build is only as good as the people who planned and installed it.
WHO THIS SERVES
Patrol, command, and specialty units
This is the deepest build we do. It brings together prisoner partitions and transport, weapon mounts, scene and warning lighting, rugged compute, in-car and body video, and the power system to run all of it without draining the vehicle. Sector builds it to your department's layout and standards, installs it, and stands behind it.
Apparatus, ambulance, and command
We build mounting, power, lighting, and connectivity for the people who show up when it counts. We work to each rig's role and the equipment it has to carry, and we stand behind the install. Tell us about the vehicle and we will spec the build.
Work trucks, utility, and executive
Downtime is lost revenue, and a build that is not done to standard is a liability. Sector brings the same engineering and quality control we use for public safety to commercial fleets: fleet video and telematics, power management, mounting, connectivity, and executive vehicle upgrades.
Rigs and mobile offices
If you are building a rig for the backcountry or a mobile office for the road, the hard parts are the same: mounting that holds, power that lasts, and connectivity where there is no signal. We source and integrate the gear, and we are glad to advise on a build you run yourself. Tell us what you are building.
HOW WE APPROACH THIS
Spec to the work and the budget
Before anything is ordered, we design the build around the vehicle's job and what you can spend. You see the plan and approve it. No surprise change orders; anything new gets pre-authorized.
Source and integrate
We pull from a wide bench of vetted brands and isolate the technology's power from the vehicle's OEM systems, so nothing fights the factory electronics. The goal is one system that works together, not a stack of parts.
Install and commission
Upfit-trained technicians do the install, then run a commissioning checklist so every system is tested and operating before the vehicle comes back to you. Built so future service is easy to get to.
Support for the life of the system
An unlimited installation and workmanship warranty for the full life of the technology we sell, plus field service that comes to you. We reinstall into replacement vehicles as your fleet refreshes.
WHAT GOES INTO THE BUILD
Controls in reach, gear that holds through a pursuit
Consoles, mounts, and docking are the backbone of any build. A console puts the controls in reach, mounts hold a laptop or tablet through a pursuit or a pothole, and docks charge and connect the machine without a loose cable in sight. This is the deepest part of our catalog, and it is where the build either feels right or fights the operator every shift.
Seen and heard before you arrive
A full lighting package runs from lightbars and hideaways to grille and surface lights, traffic advisors, and scene lighting that turns a roadside into a workspace, plus sirens and control heads wired to the right circuits. Sector is an authorized distributor for multiple lighting and siren lines, including lines beyond our online catalog. We source and integrate the full system and wire it to last.
The tone drivers feel before they hear it
Modern vehicle cabins are quiet by design, which means a standard siren can reach an intersection and still not be heard in time. A low-frequency tone is felt as much as heard. It penetrates surrounding vehicles and pushes through where higher tones get masked, which helps clear an intersection faster and lowers the odds of a collision on the way to a call. We integrate it with the primary siren so the operator runs one control.
Run every device and still start in the morning
Every device you add is a draw on a battery the vehicle was not designed to share. We isolate the technology's power from the OEM electrical system, run it through a fused distribution with surge protection, and add intelligent shutdown timers so the gear powers down safely and the vehicle still starts in the morning. For builds that demand it, direct-wire jump-start systems keep a stationary vehicle running its equipment without killing the battery.
Secured for the cage, the cab, and the gear
We build in prisoner partitions and transport seats, K9 inserts with heat alarms and door-pop safety, secure weapon and gun-rack mounts, and vaults and drawer systems that lock down gear. Every piece is built to fit the cage and the cab, not forced in afterward.
The reason the whole build exists
The technology stack is what the whole build is there to carry. It covers rugged laptops and tablets, in-car and body-worn video, license plate recognition, mobile routers and antennas for connectivity that holds, and in-vehicle printers and scanners. We mount it, power it, connect it, and commission it as one system.
WHY SECTOR FOR THIS SOLUTION
We run what we sell
The same gear we install is gear our own team uses and stands behind, so reliability, usability, and service are not abstractions to us.
Public safety DNA
The build standards come from work where failure is not an option. Commercial and executive fleets get the same engineering and quality control we bring to law enforcement and fire.
We stand behind it
An unlimited installation and workmanship warranty for the full life of the system, field service that comes to you, and one accountable partner instead of a chain of vendors pointing at each other.
HOW AN UPFIT COMES TOGETHER
Tell us about the vehicle and the work
Tell us what the vehicle has to do, what it has to carry, and what you can spend. We run a fleet audit and vehicle list where it helps.
We design and spec the build
We design a full plan, priced to your budget and priorities, with the technology's power isolated from the vehicle. You see it before anything is ordered.
You review and approve
Nothing gets ordered or installed until you sign off. Any change is pre-authorized, so the price holds.
We source, install, and commission
Upfit-trained techs build it and run the commissioning checklist, then deliver it ready to work.
We support it for the life of the system
You get a workmanship warranty, field service that comes to you, and reinstall into replacement vehicles as your fleet refreshes.
