The moment that matters is the moment nobody has a free hand, so activation cannot depend on memory. Sector configures hands-free triggers so a light bar, a siren, a holster sensor, or a hard movement starts the recording automatically, with one-touch manual record as the backstop. A swappable battery sized for a full shift means a patrol officer or a corrections deputy is never carrying a dead camera at hour five, and a spare battery puts them right back in service. Officers tag footage in the field from the camera screen, so it reaches the evidence system already labeled instead of as a nameless file someone sorts later.

Multi-bay docks charge and offload at the same time, moving video to storage automatically the moment a camera is seated, with firmware kept current in the same cycle. Body-worn video does its best work tied to the vehicle. A single trigger starts the in-car cameras and the officer's body-worn camera together, so the same incident is recorded from the car and from the body at once, without anyone reaching for a button. The body-worn camera doubles as the wireless microphone for the in-car system, which takes weight and one more device off the officer. Body-worn footage has two enemies: the defense attorney who questions its integrity, and the records request that buries your staff. The systems Sector deploys answer both. Footage is organized per officer and per incident, with role-based access and optional multi-factor authentication, encryption in transit and at rest, and full audit logging of every view, edit, and share, so the chain of custody is traceable end to end. Redaction and transcription are built in, so records staff can blur bystanders and mask audio and produce footage on a deadline instead of by hand. Retention is configurable by category, so evidentiary video and routine footage follow different clocks. Keep it in the cloud for fast prosecutor sharing or on your own servers for high-volume retention, on a backend that follows CJIS-aligned practices.
