FROM THE VEST TO THE RECORD
A camera built to take a beating and still see
The camera on the officer has to survive the job. The units Sector deploys are compact and light enough to wear a full shift, and rugged to IP67 and MIL-STD-810H, so they keep recording through impact, water, dust, and temperature extremes. A wide field of view keeps the whole encounter in frame, low-light performance holds color when there is almost no light, and image stabilization keeps footage usable during a foot pursuit. A pre-record buffer captures the seconds before activation, so the start of an incident is not lost to reaction time.
Recording that starts without a free hand
The moment that matters is often the moment nobody has a free hand, so recording cannot depend on someone remembering to hit a button. Sector configures hands-free activation, from holster and light-bar sensors to motion triggers, with one-touch manual record as the backstop. A swappable battery sized for a full shift keeps a camera from dying mid-shift, and a fresh battery puts it right back in service. Footage is tagged in the field from the camera, so it reaches the evidence system already labeled instead of as a nameless file to sort later.
Off the body and into evidence on its own
The step that fails most often is the human one, so Sector takes it out of the officer's hands. Multi-bay docks charge and offload at the same time, moving video to storage automatically the moment a camera is seated, with no one babysitting an upload. Swappable batteries mean a camera goes back out on a fresh battery while the used one charges, so the camera is never tied to the wall. Single docks cover in-vehicle and in-station setups for smaller agencies.
One incident, every angle
Body-worn video does its best work tied to the vehicle. A single trigger starts the in-car cameras and the officer's body-worn camera together, so the same incident is captured from the car and from the body at once, without anyone reaching for a button. The body-worn camera doubles as the wireless microphone for the in-car system, and officers can tag footage from the in-car display. This is the on-officer layer of the same video ecosystem as Sector's in-car video.
The record, kept so it holds up
Body-worn footage carries its own demands: it is organized per officer, it piles up fast, and a single records request can mean redacting every bystander in hours of video.
